Jan Zandbergen Group has been importing fresh and frozen Namibian meat from Meatco, for quite some time. Under Meatco’s own brand, Natures Reserve, we offer various types of ‘Free Range’ and ‘Grain Fed’ products. These products are marketed under the name FAN Meat and can be recognized by the Fan Meat logo. There are two standards: FAN Meat Free Range and FAN Meat Grain Fed.

The Farm Assured Namibian Meat (FAN Meat) Scheme was developed in collaboration between the Meat Board of Namibia (MBN) and the Directorate of Veterinary Services (DVS) following an industry decision to secure the Namibian meat markets. The Namibian FAN Meat certification is a quality mark for meat from Namibia that meets high standards in animal welfare, deforestation, and traceability. The certification represents sustainable meat production and a healthy relationship between humans, animals, and the environment. The goal of the certification is to create awareness for better farming practices and animal welfare. This is achieved by studying global trends in the meat sector and using this knowledge to continue developing the Namibian meat industry.
Namibia is known for its rich agricultural heritage, which is reflected in the quality of Meatco’s meat. The cattle graze freely on nutritious grasslands, resulting in tender and flavorful meat. Thanks to Namibia’s dry climate, the meat has a lower moisture content, improving its taste and shelf life. With a BRC certification, Meatco ensures food safety.
